Michael answered 5 years ago Wait!!! A 4 cylinder transmission will NOT work on the V-6. They use different transmission. Also, the V-6 transmission is, as you just found out, not as durable as you could wish for. The 4 cylinder one would disintegrate in no time, since it is even more light duty. The 2001 V-6 transmission is likely to fit, but depending on the mileage and maintenance history of it, you may be looking at replacing that soon, too.
